Club Rules/Guidance
1. All instructors should be addressed as Sensei whilst in the Dojo. Please bow to Sensei's before and after addressing them whilst in the Dojo.

2. Students must bow upon entering and leaving the Dojo (Training Hall).

3. Students shall not enter the mat (Tatami) without the permission of a Sensei (Instructor). Once on the mat students must not leave the mat without permission. For safety reasons, if you must leave the mat or leave class early, you must first ask permission to do so.

4. Before stepping onto the mat students should perform a formal standing bow facing forward into the mat.

5. Any time a student steps off of the mat, they must bow to the center of the mat before getting back on.

6. Classes begin with students lining up facing the Sensei in order of descending belt rank.

7. Following instruction from the Sensei students are requested to kneel and the most senior student will instructor the class to formally bow to the Sensei.

8. If the student is late, they must wait for the Sensei to give them permission before stepping onto the mat.

9. Whilst on the mat students must maintain respect to the partner, other students and the Sensei at all times. Failure to comply may result in the student being asked to leave the class.

10. Students must bow to his/her training partner before and after each class, and before any natural breaks in training, such as receiving instruction from a Sensei.

11. During class, talking should be kept to a minimum and should be related to the class. No foul langauge shall be tolerated at any times.

12. For everyone’s safety, fingernails and toenails must be kept short.

13. Students must wear a all white Gi (uniform) in the style worn by Sensei. GIs are not required until you are ready to grade for your first belt.

14. For everyone’s safety, jewelry items such as earrings, rings, necklaces, watches, etc. must be removed prior to stepping on the mat.

15. Shoes, food, or drinks are NOT allowed on the mats.

16. Mobile phones should be set on silent while in the dojo. Please refrain from loud phone conversations.

17. Students and spectators who are watching and not training should keep noise to a minimum and not disturb other classes that are in session.
